About Us & Our Home Boarding:
I'm Analisa Domenica. My husband Rick Amendola and I have been companion-sitting professionally since 2012. We are dedicated to ensuring a fabulous experience for your canine companion(s). They will be in affectionate, responsible, and well-qualified hands while here at Camp Braveheart Bed & Bones. I'm a down-to-earth dog whisperer and certified professional sitter; Rick is a retired farrier, and no stranger to ranches and barns and all the critters that work and play in and around them. We live in a comfortable home, with Pearl, our nine-year old, super sweet Border Collie, on six wooded acres in beautiful Mill Spring, NC. We and our canine guests enjoy daily hikes on the wooded trails that surround our property. Many of our guests are the athletic type who are accustomed to long daily walks, and that makes us all a great fit!
Here's what one very happy client recently wrote about her very digestive-sensitive puppy's stay: "Analisa took wonderful care of our puppy Bella. We were gone for a week and got a photo and text every day. I felt completely at ease. We will be using her to pet sit again. Bella has not had any tummy troubles since her stay over the holidays - you did such a great job with her!!!!"
Emergency Vet Care:
Our excellent local vet, Bonnie Brae Veterinary Hospital is just 10 minutes away, in case of any emergency, and your dog(s) can be treated there, with the proper treatment release and payment agreement forms completed before the stay. I have all the information that will bring comfort to us all, in this user-friendly form.
Companion Health & Hygiene:
We ask that you bring your companion(s) to their visit clean and free of fleas and ticks and require a copy of your their up-to-date vaccination and medical info, as well as assurance of flea and tick protection for the duration of their stay, and micro-chip info if your companion is chipped. This protects everyone's companions, especially yours!
What to Bring:
Communication:
I will keep you updated with daily text messages and photos of your companion, living it up at Camp Braveheart Bed & Bones. Before you commit to a vacay for your companion, we'll all meet in our home. These complimentary, scheduled meet & greets are casual and last up to 30 minutes.
Rates:
Our premium quality home-care is value-priced between $50-$75 per dog per 24 hour period (a couple of hours here and there are no worry). This fee applies to dogs who are well-socialized & behaved, good sleepers, safely-groomed (daily comb/brushing) and are cooperative team players who will walk well on leash with other campers. Special-need fees will be assessed for dogs who need separate daily walks, leash-training, and other multiple, individual needs.
We understand that you can kennel your dogs more affordably, in the short-run. We also understand that kenneling may not be the best option for companions that need and deserve the extra TLC that we provide. Here's something to consider:
Your dog(s) needs good exercise to be healthy, relaxed, stimulated, and fit. Many home-boarders and pet-sitters offer yard-playtime as their main exercise source. Quite often this results in lounging and longing vs. actual stimulation and exercise. The national average for dog walking is $30 per 30 minutes. Your dog(s) will have at least two 30 minute walks each day. 90-120 minutes for the athletic type. Plus daily supervised & directed yard-playtime. The rest of the premium care, observation and TLC they receive throughout the day and night is essentially "on the house!" Our clients regularly tell us that their dog(s) receive more attention, exercise, and grooming than they do at home. Camp Braveheart Bed & Bones truly is an incredible value for your companion, and for your peace of mind. Rather than just a kennel for your dog(s) to stay while you're away, we hope you'll think of Camp Braveheart as their home away from home, with socialization and work-out programs all rolled into one. Vacay for you, vacay for them. Call for a complimentary meet & greet today!
We also offer drop-in and overnight sitting services in your home for one or multiple animals. If this is your preference, please click here: In-Home Sitting, Drop-In Visits
Please check out our Guest Gallery to see some of the animals that have vacationed here or that I've cared for in their homes. Thanks for visiting our website - do let us know how we may assist you!
What others are saying:
"Analisa could not have been kinder or more capable. Our dog LOVED being at Camp Braveheart and will be going back very soon!"
"What a wonderful woman. Lula loved her from the first moment she met Analisa. Her home was very nice and Lula was taken on walks each day. Analisa sent us pictures each day so we could see her in her daily stay. Analisa would be a five star or higher................."
"My dog is an eight year old rescue. He has separation and anxiety issues which make it challenging to find overnight care. He was immediately comfortable with this caregiver. Her home and grounds were ideal. She was very accommodating and a joy to work with. She went to the effort to text pictures of my dog as he enjoyed walks on one of the trails on her property. I can recommend her without reservation and feel certain I will use her again! My dog gives her 2 paws up!"
"Trace's time with Analisa & Rick was great. He came back his usual playful self. After a previously difficult boarding experience elsewhere, this was a great relief to us! Our dog had a better time there than he did at home. Analisa & Rick took excellent care of him & treated him like a member of their family. We have found a new "retreat" for Trace when we're away from home!"
"I adopted a lab mix from the humane society 2 years ago. This little fellow had some anxiety issues and had been taken and returned to the humane society at least twice before I found him.
When I need to board Vega, I take him to BRAVEHEART. Analisa and Rick take such good care of him; they welcome him into their home and treat him as their own pet. Vega is not nervous at all about going there; in fact he gets excited and likes it. I used to take him to a kennel with lots of other dogs, but BRAVEHEART is so much more homey and caring. I would recommend BRAVEHEART to anyone who considers his or her pet a member of the family. Analisa takes special care CONNECTING with your special one and my VEGA is always happy to go there."
"Batingeaux thoroughly enjoyed her Christmas vacation with Analisa and Rick and she is looking forward to a return visit!"
"We have a large Berner who is sweet but spoiled. She has allergies and needs meds for that and for arthritis. Analisa made sure Suni had all her meds and supplements. We tried putting Suni is a kennel a few times but but every time she came home stressed and with diarrhea. Not anymore!! We were fortunate to find Analisa....She is so good with Suni and Suni likes to hang out with her dog Sierra. She sent pictures and updated us often on how Suni was doing. Her location is perfect for dogs.... Suni loved to spend time on both the back and front fenced in porches. The wooded setting and trails were great for daily walks. This was Suni's second vacation with Analisa and we hope she will let us bring Suni back next time we have to be away. It is great to be on vacation and know that Suni is happy and so well taken care of. Thanks again, Analisa!"
"Our dogs had a GREAT experience. They were happy, well cared for and sad to leave Analisa's home. Our golden, Shayna even got a bath and she loved it. No hesitation on returning again and they were treated far better than being placed in a kennel. Their yard was great and they had plenty of exercise. Give her a call for your pet and you will be glad you did."
